    JUNE 2008 POEMS

Sisters    by Paige, Grade 3, New Hampshire,USA

    Sisters these days

    We fight

    Pull hair

    Hit

    Twin beds

    Same room

    Big mirror

    Haunted house

    Crazy house

    Bratty sister

    Don’t care

    Makes me do everything

    But shouldn’t dare

    Story told

    Can’t you see

    It isn’t me!

Evil Sister   By Darby, Grade 3, New Hampshire, USA

    We have the same room

She hits me with a broom.

    Kicks my bed,

    Stabbed me with pencil lead,

And scribbles on my coloring with red.

    She wants to go where

I go, and whines if she doesn’t end there.

She scratches and pulls my hair.

    She calls me names.

    She yells at me,

    And hides my things.

Ice Fishing     By Darren, Grade 3, New Hampshire, USA

I hate reading homework because it is so mean.

I hate cleaning my dirty room.

I hate cleaning Missy’s messy hamster cage.

I hate cleaning my sister Emma’s toy mess in the living room.

I hate bringing the wood into the house for the stove.

I like ice fishing because it’s fun to catch fish.

I like ice fishing when it is snowy.

I like ice fishing so I can catch snow on my tongue.

I like ice fishing so I can slip on the ice.

I like ice fishing so I can take slush out of the hole.

I like getting home when I am soaked.

I like that the wood stove makes the house warm.

    I like hot chocolate.

Bored     By Mike, Grade 3, New Hampshire, USA

    I am really bored.

    Please help me Lord.

    I have no fun toys.

    There are no fun boys.

I do not have a fun game.

Still there is no one to blame.

    No one wants to play.

I am not going to pay.

    No board game.

Still there is no one to blame.

When we brothers wrestle, we all fall.

Sister is at a silly ball.

    Can’t draw or slide,

    Just wish I could hide.

    Now I have I won

    And the mystery is done.

It is time to have fun!

    My homework is finally complete,

Six o’clock is really, really sweet!
