TEACHER INFORMATION
Dear Teacher, Story Sharing is a wonderful opportunity for your students to publish the short stories and poems that they have written in your class. For some children, this may be just the incentive needed to turn on their imaginations and to practice their writing skills while building their confidence. Additionally, it is a wonderful way to give their friends and relatives a first-hand look at their efforts to be a young writer. Because of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998, to submit students' works please: 1. Send home a letter to your students' parents explaining Story Sharing and asking permission to submit stories students have written in class. Have it signed and returned to you and keep it for your records. 2. Please register your class by submitting this online form. 3. Email the child's story or poem as a Word Document or a PDF attachment to editor@storysharing.net. Illustrations may be submitted as attachments to the email (in JPG format please, 200 dpi, and preferably 5 by 7 inches). Please include the child's first name, grade, teacher's name, school, address, city/town, state and country. There is NO CHARGE to submit a child's work for publication on Story Sharing. IMPORTANT NOTE: In processing submissions, personal information, such as addresses and last names, will be removed, and stories will be posted only with first names or initials.
All submissions to Story Sharing are carefully reviewed to ensure that they meet our guidelines for appropriate language and content. Nothing is automatically posted to our website. Information submitted is used solely for Story Sharing's records and is neither released nor submitted to other organizations, companies, groups, or individuals nor is it used for any form of marketing or solicitation. The author owns the copyright to his/her story. Submitted stories and poems may be removed from the Story Sharing website by sending a request to publisher@storysharing.net. Please do not hesitate to contact the Story Sharing editor with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for your support in encouraging aspiring young authors.
